General Construction Operative (GCO) card is being withdrawn from 1 April 2019 • No GCO card will be issued with a training date on or after 1 April 2019. • Replacement cards can be issued until the card expiry date. 2. Labourer card being introduced from 1 April 2019 • The CSR Labourer card will be for operatives working in a labouring occupation. The card will look the same as the GCO card i.e. green strip but it will say Labourer on the front rather than General Construction Operative. • The CSR Labourer card will be accepted in Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland (as equivalent to the Safe Pass card) and GB. • It will be valid for 4 years from the date the candidate completes the CSR one day health & safety training. • An employer declaration is required to be signed as part of the application process to confirm the applicant has been engaged in a labouring occupation within the last five years. • There is no defined duration that the operative must have been working in a labouring occupation to be eligible for the Labourer card. It will not reference the occupation of the applicant. • The Health & Safety Trained card will be white, will say Health & Safety Trained on the front and will not have the CSCS logo hologram. • The CSR Health & Safety Trained card will be accepted in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland (as equivalent to the Safe Pass card). • The CSR Health & Safety Trained card will not meet the CLC One Industry Logo requirements and therefore will not be recognised in GB. • The CSR Health & Safety card is for use in NI and RoI only. • It will be valid for 4 years from the date the candidate completes the CSR one day health & safety training.
